Botanical Illustration Close Up: Using Macro Photography
This full-day and sold out course took place at the Conservatoire, Blackheath (London).
This course, catered for children and young adults for the Conservatoire, encouraged close-up botanical photography, painting, pencil drawing, and mixed-media collage. Students made their own large painting on A2 paper, A2 collages, bookmarks, and greeting cards.

At the QRD Conference, David Wiszniowski will be presenting our talk “Bringing the Qual into Quant with Games for Research”. David will be showcasing a new case-study on how our ResearchGames bring the qualitative research element into typical quantitative methodologies. By using ResearchGames, our case-study shows increases in response rates, engagement and recall rates. Betty Adamou invited to present Academic case-study, at IIEX conference, Amsterdam

After working with academic study IMPRINTS Futures, Betty Adamou and the team at Research Through Gaming created 2 Bespoke ResearchGames, and bespoke software functionalities, for this project. The increase in recall rates, respondent enjoyment and data required were hugely positive and exciting. This presentation, and paper, was first presented at the ASC Conference in late 2013 but increase in interest has meant Betty is now presenting this case-study at other events as well. 1st ever Advanced Games in Research workshop carried out with the Market Research Society

After a series of successful Introduction to Gamification Research workshops being carried out with the Market Research Society in London, Betty then introduced the most interactive workshop she’s ever design – an Advanced Games for Research Playshop. Betty designed a new ResearchGame for the research delegates called “The Hunt” as well as using her ResearchGame “20 for 20″ to help the delegates understand how to design a ResearchGame. The workshop allowed delegates to understand music and sound effects, the use of role-play and characterisation for projective techniques and evoking emotions, as well as linguistics and Best Practices while looking at emerging technologies for future-proofing market research, in all forms. The feedback was extremely positive and Betty will be running further Advanced Games for Research Playshops as well as her Introductory courses with the MRS throughout 2014. Betty Guest Lectures Fashion BA students at University of Winchester

While Betty was at the University of Winchester meeting with a team of gaming Professors and PhD students, Betty was invited to listen in to a lecture for the Fashion students, given her Fashion background. In an honest talk, Betty spoke to the students about her time studying fashion, her brief time making and selling womenswear, and how building her own business has taught her lessons she’d wished she’d learned during her time studying and designing womenswear. Betty spoke about entrepreneurship to the students, and how cash flow is paramount to building business for the 90% of students in the room who said they wanted to begin their own fashion houses after University.
Betty Adamou invited to Keynote at UCD (User Centred Design) Conference, London

Betty was invited to speak at this conference as a Keynote speaker on using Games for Research, using “T.E.S.S.A. Undercover Agents” and “Dubious” (two ResearchGames launched Spring 2013) as a visual guide to the use of user centric design, while also using semiotics, music and sound effects to evoke emotion for the purposes of more top-of-mind and ‘honest’ data. We’ve been invited to this event by the City University London on 22nd February to talk about the work we do with the Games Design and Technology and Games and Computer Science students from the City University London. The events’ aim is to promote careers in software development and programming. The event will kick off with some presentations and a Q & A featuring people from major games companies.
